Chief’s Message,

Thank you for visiting the Star Fire Protection District’s website. The members of this department recognize our responsibility to help ensure the safety of the people in our District. We consider public service a privilege and value the trust we are given by the people we serve. We are dedicated to delivering our services in a courteous, expedient and efficient manner.

Since 1953, our District has worked hard to adapt and evolve to meet the challenges of providing a wide spectrum of emergency services to the District. I believe our greatest asset is our team of dedicated employees who consistently go the extra mile in delivering these vital services. Its people who carry out our mission and provide a safer place to live and work.

Organizationally we are faced with an enormous task. The District’s response area covers approximately 55 square miles and we serve a population of just over 10,000 with 4 on-duty firefighter/EMT personnel. During 2013, we received 700 calls for emergency services not counting the community service calls provided on a daily basis. As a Fire District we must do more than simply respond when called, we must do all we can to prevent fires and prepare in advance for emergencies.

The Fire District continues to move forward and strives to utilize innovative methods to meet our operational goals and financial needs. The District has built lasting relationships over the past year with neighboring departments, training needs and operational practices. However, we face challenges like any other organization and take a team approach as we work through them.

As the Fire Chief I take it as my personal responsibility to make this District as safe as possible through our commitment to Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Prevention and Readiness Emergency Planning. I encourage you to browse through our web page to learn more about our Fire District.
