FIRE PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS!
Homeowners, builders, and contractors within the Middleton Rural Fire District and Star Fire Protection District click the link below to find information on Building requirements, Permitting, and Inspections. Effective January 1, 2021, the Fire District has adopted the 2018 International Fire Code.
The Middleton/Star Fire Districts are currently seeking Lateral Fire Fighter applicants. We are specifically looking for those candidates who are hardworking, self-starting team players. A current State of Idaho EMT or current National Registry EMT Certification, IFSAC/Pro Board FF 1 or equivalent certification, IFSAC/Pro Board Driver-Operator Pumper, or equivalent certification. (Validity of equivalency will be determined by the Chief).
Qualifications include one year of experience as a paid professional Fire Fighter with a municipal fire department. Based on your experience as a Fire Fighter, you may be hired at a higher step than the bottom of the salary range. The salary range is $54,000- $60,000.
Firefighter will start with a (2) week orientation to acclimate themselves to learn and practice Middleton/Star Fire Districts operations. This recruitment may consist of an oral interview, skills assessment, background, medical exams Chief interview.
Qualified candidates must be a high school graduate or equivalent, at least 21 years old at time of appointment, a U.S. citizen (or have applied for citizenship at least one year prior to July 5, 2021, and citizenship must be obtained within three (3) years after filing the citizenship application.
Candidates are required to possess a valid Idaho driver’s license prior to starting work and must obtain a State of Idaho Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license within 60 days of employment.
Incumbents must maintain the physical endurance, muscular strength, and agility to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of Firefighter, specifically including, but not limited to, stooping, lifting and/or carrying heavy objects, running, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, pulling heavy hoses, wearing heavy equipment, and crawling; and must agree not to use tobacco on or off duty for as long as employed by the Middleton/Star Fire District.
